Plano-based company Heart to Heart Hospice is under investigation by the FBI.
FBI agents were seen at company offices in Carrollton, Fort Worth and Houston on Tuesday, according to a report by KTVT (Channel 11). Representatives from the Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (HHS OIG) were also seen.
According to the report by Channel 11, both Plano and Carrollton police departments have confirmed their cooperation with the FBI in the investigation.
The reason for the investigation is still unknown.
Heart to Heart Hospice office in Carrollton
With locations in Texas, Michigan and Indiana, Heart to Heart Hospice provides medical care and “emotional and spiritual support” to terminally ill patients and their families, the website says.
Another North Texas hospice company was also recently reported to be under investigation.
The Dallas Morning News reported in May that Novus Health Services, based in Frisco, was under investigation by the FBI. Novus Health Services faces allegations of ending the lives of patients through overmedication, potentially at the direction of the company’s chief executive.
