Dallas, TX- Phillip Huffines, candidate for Dallas County Republican Party Chair, was elected by a group of precinct chairs on Monday night. With 120 votes cast in his favor, out of 156 precinct chairs in attendance, Huffines was well over the requisite vote tally to win the Chairmanship.
In a speech before the vote, Huffines focused on the themes of returning the party to solid financial ground, expanding the party to previously un-reached groups and unifying the party to defeat the Democrats in November.
“We are going to defeat the Democrats because the Republican Party is a party of principles and common sense ideas that resonate with all voters. Our party must deliver the message of personal liberty and freedom in a way that the people of Dallas County will listen. When Republicans present a positive, clear vision to Texans, we win.” Huffines said.
Huffines also called for unity among the Dallas GOP activists present, citing that he didn’t see different factions in the room, only Republicans. Huffines also welcomed former opponents Bingham and Bernstein to join his team as the party works toward improving on all fronts.
“With less than 90 days until election day, the Dallas County GOP, with our new leadership team in place, is going to fight the good fight, knocking on every door and talking with every voter about our positive, conservative vision for Dallas and for Texas,” remarked Huffines.
